It is with great excitement that we share an exciting milestone in the delivery of our Future to 50 Master Plan, with the Development Application for the proposed new St Mark’s Sports Precinct now lodged with the City of Joondalup and open for community consultation.
Designed as a contemporary, future-focused facility, the Sports Precinct will include a double-court gymnasium, fitness and movement spaces, changerooms, a signature indoor high ropes course and Year 9 Learning Hub.
Importantly, it will also provide a much-needed venue where our entire Kindergarten to Year 12 community can come together for assemblies, celebrations and major School events.
This is more than a new building. The Sports Precinct represents an investment in the life of our School and the wellbeing of our students. It will create new opportunities for students to learn, train, participate and grow, while strengthening the important connections between physical activity, personal wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
The upper level is a dedicated base for our Year 9 cohort. Flexible general learning areas support students as they make the important shift from Middle School to Senior School. This purposeful environment will help navigate our students through adolescence, building their confidence, independence and character so they thrive in Senior School and beyond.
The Sports Precinct is an important step in St Mark’s long-term Master Plan. It is one of several projects that will help us shape a modern, connected and sustainable campus that serves the needs of today’s students and generations to come.
As part of the City of Joondalup’s planning process, the Development Application is now being advertised for public comment. Members of our community can view the proposal and find information about providing feedback on the City’s community consultation page.
While lodgement does not represent final approval or the commencement of construction, it is a significant step forward.
We look forward to keeping you informed as this exciting vision for the future of learning, sport and wellbeing at St Mark’s continues to take shape.
