Week 7 Message
Kiss 'n' Drive Etiquette
We understand that afternoon collection can be a hectic time of day, particularly when traffic is heavier than usual and everyone is keen to get home. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of families as we work together to ensure pick-up remains safe and efficient for all.
A reminder that the success of our Kiss 'n' Drive system relies on vehicles continuing to move through the drive through. If your child has not yet arrived to enter the vehicle when you reach the collection point, we ask that you continue around the loop and rejoin the queue rather than waiting and holding up the line. While this can be inconvenient at times, it helps keep traffic flowing and reduces delays for other families.
Our staff are there to support the smooth operation of the process and, most importantly, to keep students safe. From time to time, staff may need to ask drivers to move on so that traffic can continue to flow. We appreciate your understanding when this occurs, as staff are simply following procedures designed to keep students safe and ensure the system works fairly for all families.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us provide a safe and positive end to the school day.
Students Signing In Late
A reminder to families that students arriving after the start of the school day must be signed in by a parent or caregiver at Reception before proceeding to class.
Recently, we have seen a small number of Junior School students arriving late and arriving at the Junior Reception to sign themselves in without an adult present. While we appreciate that mornings can be busy and, in some cases, parents may be unable to leave their vehicle or accompany their child into Reception, it is important that students are signed in by a parent or caregiver. This ensures we have accurate attendance records and allows us to meet our duty of care responsibilities.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain safe and accurate attendance procedures for all students.
Primary Athletics Carnival
Our Primary Athletics Carnival will take place this Thursday and Friday on the Secondary Oval. Thursday will see our Year 3-5 students compete in selected field and distance events, with the full carnival for Pre-Primary to Year 5 taking place on Friday.
The carnival is a great event within the school year, providing students with the opportunity to participate, challenge themselves, demonstrate house spirit and enjoy a day of fun and friendly competition. The focus of the carnival is on participation, enthusiasm and giving every student the chance to be involved.
Parents and family members are warmly invited to attend and support our students across both days. We look forward to seeing plenty of colour, encouragement and house spirit as our students take to the track and field.
At the conclusion of the carnival, families who wish to collect their child early are welcome to do so from their child's classroom, where teachers will have class lists available for sign out. We ask that parents please wait until students have returned to their classrooms before collecting them. We recognise this may mean an extra walk to and from the classroom, however this process is important in helping teachers safely account for all students and ensuring no child is inadvertently missed as classes return from the oval. Thank you for your understanding and support of this important safety procedure.
A final reminder to ensure students bring their hat, water bottle and wear the appropriate house colours where possible. We can't wait for a fantastic two days of athletics.
