A message from the Acting Head of Primary School
Dear Parents
St Mark’s Day is fast approaching, and this year’s celebration promises to be particularly special as we mark 40 years of our school community.
On Friday 1 May, the day will begin with a whole school Communion Service. This will be a meaningful time for reflection and gratitude, and an opportunity for us to come together as a community. During the service, we will also farewell Mr Steven Davies and give thanks for his contribution to our school. In addition, we will celebrate Reverend Mark Davis as he is commissioned by Archbishop Kay - an important and memorable moment in the life of our school.
Following the service, students will take part in a variety of activities designed to celebrate what it means to be a St Mark’s student. Classes will explore our rich 40-year history, engage in shared singing, and express our school values through creative and artistic experiences. These activities are designed to build connection, pride, and a deeper understanding of our community. A number of these activities will focus on the virtues of gratitude and compassion and as part of this, students are asked to bring in a $5 donation to support Anglicare WA’s Street Connect, a mobile youth homelessness service.
At lunchtime, the celebrations will continue on the Secondary Oval where students can bring their packed lunch, enjoy a range of fun activities including games, a dunk tank, and a silent disco. Further details will be shared in next week's Bulletin.
St Mark’s Day is always a highlight of the school year, and this year - celebrating our 40th birthday - will be especially memorable. We look forward to a joyful day of connection, celebration, and community spirit.
Kind regards
Mark Pressley
Acting Head of Primary School
