You will hear from a panel of passionate community people who want to share their experiences with you. They will talk about the day in the life of their job, helpful tips from their industry and share their story from school to industry with you. Plus you will receive a light breakfast!

To create the series, we ask students to complete a super easy survey so we can create a series based around your interests and who you want to hear from. From the data- we start our search and the series is created.

The Course Selection Information Sessions for Years 11 and 12 in 2027 are running concurrently with the Expo.

EARLY OFFERS FOR 2027 ADMISSION Students applying through TISC will automatically be considered for an early offer for their first preference, if that course makes early offers. There is no need to complete any separate or additional procedures to be considered for early offers.

There will be two Year 12 Early Offer rounds this year.

• Round one: Released Monday 5 October 2026
• Round two (and final early offer): Released Wednesday 2 December.

Event registration

Each year, up to five scholarships valued at $10,000 per annum are awarded to domestic* Year 12 high school students who demonstrate exceptional academic capabilities, can articulate their leadership vision, and demonstrate community and co-curricular achievements.

Recipients of the scholarship will participate actively in a university prescribed leadership development and mentorship program. This includes membership of the University’s mentor scheme, participation in other selected activities and periodic visits to schools to promote university education in general.

The 2027 Veterinary Medicine Admissions Guide is now available and all applicants should review it before applying. It outlines key requirements for entry into Murdoch’s BSc/Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, including completion of the Casper assessment and submission of the official application form.

All applications to this program are to be submitted through TISC and are due by 31 July 2026.

Airflite delivers a 4 Week course that has been designed to give students a realistic reflection of what real ground school is like. It is taught by real airline ground school instructors; to give students an authentic taste of exactly how the airline industry operates.

The Cabin Crew Training could suit students interested in travel, customer service and aviation careers.

They are based at Jandakot airport where they also run a range of pilot training programmes.

The Construction Careers Scholarship Program involves completing a fully funded pre-apprenticeship course.

Industry trainers, CTF’s Industry Training Advisors, and past trainees provide students with support and advice. Additionally, students receive free mentoring, job readiness training, uniforms, and personal protective equipment.

Students will complete theory and practical training, as well as on construction site work-experience.

The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) Year 12 Program gives students who are about to start year 12 a broader understanding of study and career options available in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

In January 2027, the NYSF Year 12 Program will run two summer sessions at:

1. The Australian National University, Canberra – January 6-14, 2027, or
2. The University of Queensland – January 13-21, 2027

Staying on campus at university colleges, students are immersed in science and technology. Participants:

• participate in tours of science and technology facilities,
• learn about cutting-edge research,
• engage with industry partners and research providers,
• learn about university, training and STEM career pathways,
• mix with like-minded students their age from all over Australia,
• participate in social and team-building activities, and
• network with former NYSF participants

• Starting Wednesday 22nd July in Perth Hub and running one day/week in term 3 & 4.
• This course is for all animal lovers and looks at mammals, birds, and reptiles. Multiple excursions and hands-on opportunities. No work placement hours required.
• $2250 + $110 excursions (incl GST) + uniform (polo)

Cert III Health Services Assistance - Fridays

• Starting Friday 24th July in Perth Hub and running one day/week in term 3 & 4.
• This course is for all future nurses and focuses on vital signs, patient management, medical communication, and practical skills. Lots of hands-on opportunities. No work placement hours required.
• There are some online modules to complete outside of the classroom.
• $2250 + $165 medical kit (incl GST) + uniform (Scrubs)

The mid-year intake into the Diploma of Sport is designed for Year 11 students who have decided to move away from the ATAR pathway and are seeking a more flexible option that aligns with their sporting commitments.

An ideal candidate is a student who:

• Currently completes 6+ hours of sport per week.
• Has, or is likely to have, school absences due to sporting travel and competitions.
• May find the demands of the ATAR workload are no longer compatible with their sporting commitments.

The Defence Work Experience Program gives young Australians the chance to explore life in Defence and discover careers in the Australian Defence Force. It is a unique opportunity to learn, gain hands-on experience, and see what a career in Defence could look like.

Take the first step towards a career in construction while still at school with our Construction Careers Scholarship Program. The course combines work experience, training, and education while helping students explore and plan their career options.

The Construction Careers Scholarship Program is an innovative way to get a head start and work towards a building and construction apprenticeship. Suitable for Year 11 and 12 students, our program is highly regarded by employers and may provide credits or reduce time spent as an apprentice.

How to Get an Apprenticeship or Traineeship

An apprenticeship or traineeship is a job. You apply through sites like Seek or Indeed, you may know someone who is willing to take you on, or you can apply through a Group Training Organisation.

• You sign a contract when you start agreeing to undertake all aspects of the work and training (onsite working and training at a college).
• There is usually a company (like MEGT or Apprenticeship Support) that manages the paperwork for you and your employer, and that provides you with support as you start your apprenticeship/traineeship.

A Group Training Organisation is…

A Group Training Organisation employs lots of apprentices and trainees. They coordinate the placement of the apprentices and trainees across different host employers so that you can cover all the skills you need for your apprenticeship/traineeship.

Apprenticeship V Traineeship

Apprenticeships are usually traditional trades, like plumbing or hairdressing. Traineeships are usually shorter and in new occupations like IT, business and government.

You don’t get paid much, but:

• Your employer should cover your training fees.
• Your employer MAY pay for your tools, equipment and uniform.
• There MAY be a scholarship or subsidy to help you to cover costs. Check the Construction Training Fund Apprentice Funding page.

The West Australian Government provides free information to help you to get an apprenticeship or traineeship at the Apprenticeship Office. Seek and Indeed advertise for apprentices and trainees all through the year. The Jobs and Skills Centres also have a jobs board.

The Australian residential building industry is made up of talented women who specialise in every aspect of a house build. Learn more about each job involved in building a home and meet some talented individuals building their career in the sector.

College of Electrical Training

• Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship | College of Electrical Training (CET)

The College of Electrical Training is now the biggest trainer of apprentice electricians in WA. They have a maths quiz as part of the application, and the CET course is also highly competitive.

South Metropolitan TAFE Defence Industry Electricians

The Defence Industry Pathways Program (DIPP) has been offered to senior school VETDSS students over the past year.

The DIPP is a 12-month paid traineeship which gives trainees exposure to various sectors of the defence industry (e.g. manufacturing and engineering, computing and logistics) and includes 3 X 12-week work placements with defence industry employers. It does not provide a direct entry into the electrical trade. However, the opportunity for DIPP participants to complete work-placements and demonstrate their work-ethic and aptitude can put them in a good position when Defence Industry employers advertise electrical apprenticeships.

You DO NOT have to enlist in the defence forces to work in the defence industry. The defence industry is made up of businesses that supply goods and services to the army, navy and air force.
