Year 9 Students Explore Future Pathways Through Career Tasters
Our Year 9 students recently stepped outside the classroom and into the world of work through a series of exciting Career Taster experiences at North Metropolitan TAFE.
Students explored a variety of industries, gaining valuable hands-on experience while discovering where their interests and talents could lead in the future.
Those taking part in the "If I Had a Hammer" Building and Construction Career Taster rolled up their sleeves and developed practical skills while learning more about careers in the building and construction industry. The experience provided a real insight into the trades and the many opportunities available beyond school.
For students with a creative flair, the Ghoulish Make-Up Career Taster offered the chance to experiment with special effects and creative make-up techniques. The hands-on workshop encouraged students to think creatively while exploring pathways into the beauty, entertainment and creative industries.
Meanwhile, students participating in the Pinhole Photography Career Taster discovered a different way of looking at the world through photography. Combining creativity, experimentation and visual storytelling, the workshop provided a unique introduction to photographic and visual arts careers.
These Career Tasters are a wonderful opportunity for students to try something new, explore potential career pathways and gain a deeper understanding of the many options available after school. Through hands-on learning and real-world experiences, students are encouraged to discover new interests, build confidence and start thinking about their future possibilities.
