Year 10 Outdoor Adventure Studies Expedition – Boranup Forest Region

The recent Year 10 Outdoor Adventure Studies Expedition down in the Boranup Forest Region was one to remember. Students and staff spent the week hiking through some stunning country, taking on new challenges, and building strong connections with each other and the natural world around them.

Right from the start, the students showed incredible resilience. They tackled tough trails, shared the load with group tasks, and kept each other going when things felt tiring or uncertain. It was great to see how naturally teamwork, leadership, and support for one another developed as the days went by.

The program was packed with experiences — two abseils, two caving sessions, a Bushtucker Canoe Tour, a Mega-fauna tour, and plenty of camp craft along the way. Every activity offered something different, giving students the chance to grow their confidence, learn practical outdoor skills, and really appreciate the beauty of WA’s southwest.

Now that they’re back at school, many are taking time to reflect on what they learned — about themselves, their classmates, and the power of perseverance and connection. These insights will stay with them and continue to shape how they approach challenges, whether out in the bush or back in the classroom.
