WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | DR BRAD JONES (1995)

Ever wondered where your favourite subjects — or even your school sporting days — might take you after St Mark’s?

Our incoming Principal, Mr Darren McPartland, recently caught up with Dr Brad Jones (Class of 1995) in Sydney. The pair have a connection that goes all the way back to Brad’s St Mark’s days, when Mr McPartland coached the AFL team and Brad was captain.

Fast forward to today, and Brad has forged an impressive career in Australia’s financial system. He is Assistant Governor (Financial System) at the Reserve Bank of Australia and Deputy Chair of the Payments System Board, with his work spanning areas including financial stability, payments, the future of money and geopolitical risk.

For students interested in Economics, Business, Finance or the broader world of global markets, Brad’s career is a wonderful example of where curiosity, education and a willingness to explore opportunities can lead.

We are looking forward to welcoming Brad back to St Mark’s when he is next in Perth. He will have the opportunity to meet with our Economics students, share insights from his career journey and answer their questions about life and work in the world of finance.

From captaining the St Mark’s AFL team to helping shape Australia’s financial system, Brad’s journey is a great reminder that you never quite know where your St Mark’s journey might lead!
