Dear Early Learning Families,
Welcome back to the Early Learning Centre for Term 3.
I hope you have all enjoyed a restful holiday break and had the opportunity to spend some special time with your children, free from the usual school routines. We are delighted to welcome everyone back and are looking forward to hearing about the children's holiday adventures and seeing them reconnect with their friends and learning environments.
Congratulations to our Edith Cowan University pre-service teachers, Sara Kifayatullah (Miss K) and Nikita Botha (Miss Botha), who completed their final Professional Teaching Experience in Pre-Primary Logan and Kindergarten during Term 2. We are thrilled to share that they both achieved the highest possible assessment of Outstanding.
As part of their internship at St Mark's, Miss K and Miss Botha will remain with us throughout Term 3 to lead a special project across all Early Learning Centre classes. Miss K will be providing engaging experiences that develop the children's Fundamental Movement Skills, while Miss Botha will be leading a range of sustainability-focused learning opportunities, encouraging children to deepen their understanding of caring for our environment through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
Following a wonderful Semester 1 exploring Chinese language and culture with Miss Li, our Pre-Primary and Year 1 children will begin learning about French language and culture with Madame Woodley-Smith throughout Semester 2. This provides another exciting opportunity for our students to broaden their understanding of the world and develop an appreciation of different languages and cultures.
We greatly value the partnership we share with our families and encourage you to continue taking opportunities to connect with your child's learning. Whether by meeting with your child's teacher or volunteering on the classroom helper roster, your involvement provides valuable insight into your child's experiences and strengthens the connection between home and school.
We look forward to another exciting term of learning, discovery and growth together.
Kind regards,
Linda Sweet
Deputy Head of Primary School (K-Y1)
