That's a Career Curiosity Wrap!

After four early-morning sessions, plenty of questions and some fantastic conversations, our Career Curiosity Series has officially wrapped up for 2026!

Designed specifically for our Year 9–12 students, this year’s series was shaped by feedback from students about the industries and career pathways they wanted to know more about.

Across the sessions, students had the opportunity to hear from professionals working across a range of industries and pathways, including health and allied health, engineering and energy, marketing and business, entrepreneurship, and apprenticeships and traineeships.

More than simply hearing about different jobs, the sessions gave students an insight into the many different ways a career can unfold. Our speakers shared their own journeys beyond school – from university and further study to apprenticeships, changing careers, starting businesses and taking opportunities they may never have originally planned for.

One of the great strengths of the Career Curiosity Series is the involvement of our wider St Mark’s community, including Old Scholars, parents and industry professionals, who generously give their time to share their experiences and answer students’ questions.

The relaxed breakfast format also gave students the chance to ask the questions that really matter to them – What does the job actually involve? How did you get there? What subjects did you choose? What would you do differently? And what opportunities are out there?

A huge thank you to all of our 2026 speakers for sharing their time, knowledge and experiences, and to the students who came along – particularly for those 7.30am cold starts!

We look forward to bringing Career Curiosity back in 2027 with a new line-up of industries and pathways, once again guided by what our students want to discover about life beyond St Mark’s.
