Strengthening International Connections in Japan

Since establishing our partnership with Salesian International School in 2025, St Mark’s has continued to grow this relationship into a flourishing Study Abroad program, creating meaningful global connections and expanding opportunities for students.

Recently, our Interim Principal, Ms Roseanne Madden, and Head of Advancement, Mr Steven Wellbeloved, along with Mr Peter Byrne from AngliSchools International, travelled to Japan to further strengthen this valued partnership and continue building pathways for collaboration with Salesian International School.

The visit began in Tokyo with a productive meeting at the West Australian Trade Office, which provided valuable local insights and helped align future opportunities to deepen relationships with our Japanese education partners.

During the visit, Ms Madden, Mr Byrne and Mr Wellbeloved worked closely with the staff and students at Salesian International School on collaboration, curriculum development, and cultural exchange. A key highlight was supporting teachers in further developing their knowledge and understanding of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) curriculum, strengthening the academic pathways available to international students.

The team also had the opportunity to present to more than 150 prospective students and parents at the Study Abroad information sessions, sharing the unique opportunities available through studying at St Mark’s and the many benefits of the Study Abroad experience.

Another rewarding aspect of the visit was reconnecting with recent international students, continuing those important relationships and celebrating the positive impact of their educational journey with St Mark’s.

We extend our sincere thanks to AngliSchools International for their continued support and genuine partnership. Together, we are creating meaningful opportunities and delivering long-term success for St Mark’s Anglican Community School, AngliSchools International, and, most importantly, our students.

This visit marks another important step in the continued growth of our international program, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the years ahead.
