St Mark's welcomes new Head of Primary School

St Mark's Anglican Community School is pleased to announcement that after after a rigorous process of recruitment that attracted many high-quality applicants, we have appointed Mr Mark Douglas to the role of Head of Primary School, commencing January 2022. Mark is currently the Head of Junior School at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, a co-educational school in northern New South Wales.

Mark is very much looking forward to joining the School next year, and being part of the warm, supportive community that St Mark's is renowned for.

Prior to his time at Lindisfarne, Mark was Head of Junior School at Ipswich Grammar School, and also spent his first four years of school executive leadership as the Head of Junior School at Great Southern Grammar. In addition, Mark's career was also shaped by his work at Townsville Grammar School, the Rockhampton Grammar School, as well as a very enjoyable six-year period teaching in England.

Mark said his educational philosophy is centred around positive relationships, high expectations and a whole-hearted belief that school should be a successful experience for all students.

"My primary goal is that your children are healthy, happy, and safe while growing in both character and scholarship. Education is a life-long process and I also have much to learn about the uniqueness of St Mark’s over the coming years ahead. I look forward to working together to continue to move the Primary School towards an exciting future,' he said.

He is very enthusiastic about the year ahead, and feels blessed to have the opportunity to join the St Mark's community, and to build on the wonderful education the students already receive.
