Sleeping Out for a Cause
Last Friday, 24 of our Year 11 Anglicare Ambassadors joined more than 500 students from schools across Perth for the annual Anglicare WA Schools Sleep Out at the WACA.
Armed with sleeping bags, warm layers and plenty of determination, our students spent a chilly night sleeping under the stars. While just one night cannot replicate the experience of homelessness, it provided an important opportunity for students to reflect on the challenges faced by young people who do not have a safe and secure place to call home.
The Sleep Out raises vital funds for Anglicare WA’s Street Connect, a service supporting young people aged 15–25 who are experiencing homelessness and sleeping rough.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the St Mark’s community, our team surpassed its $12,000 fundraising target – a fantastic achievement by our Ambassadors and everyone who supported them.
Congratulations to our Year 11 students for embracing the challenge and helping make a meaningful difference for young people in our community.
