Real Voices, Real Pathways, Real Inspiration

Now in its second year, the Career Curiosity Series at St Mark’s has once again opened doors and minds, connecting our Years 10–12 students with professionals from a wide range of industries. Across eight engaging sessions, students explored career possibilities and gained invaluable advice from people working in fields as diverse as:

  • Nursing and Medicine

  • Engineering

  • Cybersecurity and Computer Software

  • Marine and Environmental Science

  • Commerce

  • Allied Health

  • Small Business

  • Emergency Services

Each session provided students with the chance to hear first-hand stories about career journeys — the challenges, turning points, and triumphs — as well as practical insights into study pathways, workplace expectations, and future opportunities.

Across the series, some powerful themes continued to emerge:

  • Do something you enjoy and you will succeed.
  • Follow your own pathway and don’t be afraid of change.
  • Make the most of every opportunity.

These messages resonated deeply with our students, encouraging them to reflect on their own aspirations and to take ownership of their future direction.

We’re incredibly grateful to the many professionals — including several Old Scholars and current parents — who gave up their time to be part of the program. Your willingness to share your knowledge and experience plays a vital role in helping our students feel more confident, informed, and inspired as they prepare for life beyond school.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the 2025 Career Curiosity Series such a success. We look forward to continuing this meaningful initiative in 2026, empowering students to explore, question, and pursue the paths that are right for them.
