OSA and Salvation Army Great Cook Up

The St Marks Old Scholars' Association and Salvation Army Great Cook-Up returned in Term 1 of 2024, drawing in many new faces and families for their inaugural attendance.

Students collaborated with their parents, collectively preparing meals for the Salvation Army. A remarkable achievement was witnessed as eight full Bain Maries were brimming with delicious cooked meals, totalling approximately 150 servings. These meals were distributed to the homeless and those in need over the ensuing weekend.

The atmosphere was vibrant with the spirit of the St Mark's community, making it a memorable afternoon in the kitchen.

A heartfelt commendation goes out to all the students and parents who participated. Kate, Jason, and Rod from the Salvation Army Team expressed their profound gratitude for the generosity.

Furthermore, the OSA extends special thanks to Mrs Gillam and Mrs Snape from Food Tech for graciously providing their rooms for meal preparation.

We deeply value the ongoing support from our community. We've undeniably established a fantastic foundation to expand upon the dedication shown last year, during which we successfully prepared and cooked over 1500 meals for those in need.
