Griffin's Tales - Productions
Did you know that St Mark’s very first Secondary Production took to the stage in 1990 with The Man of Steel?
Fast forward to 2026, and we’re preparing to rock the stage with this year’s production of We Will Rock You!
Adding a special touch to this year’s show, six Old Scholars have returned to be part of the cast and crew — Ayla Colquhoun (2025), Kendall Chin (2025), Taj Jayatilaka (2025), Asha Davey (2022), Mason Allen (2015) and Amber Reid (2015). Importantly, each of them was involved in School Productions during their time at St Mark’s, making this a true full-circle moment.
- Amber Reid (Class of 2015)- Maria in ‘The Sound of Music’, Ensemble in 'Guys and Dolls’ and ‘Cloudstreet’ and Fraulein Kost in ‘Cabaret’
- Mason Allen (Class of 2015) - Toby Raven in ‘Cloudstreet’ and 'Ernst Ludwig’ in Cabaret
- Ayla Colquhoun (Class of 2025)- Ensemble in ’School of Rock’ and ‘Mamma Mia’, Dr Ehrin in ‘Freaky Friday’, Elizabeth in ‘Queens’ and Ray Moon in ‘Ruby Moon’
- Kendall Chin (Class of 2025)- Ensemble in ‘School of Rock’, Mrs Luckenbill in ‘Freaky Friday’, Jane Seymour in ‘Queens and Carl Ogle in ‘Ruby Moon’

- Taj Jayatilaka (Class of 2025)- Band for ‘Mamma Mia’ and ‘Freaky Friday’
It’s a wonderful reflection of how a passion for performance can continue long after students leave the School.
Since 1990, the School has proudly staged a Secondary Production almost every year (with a brief pause during COVID), alongside a Junior Production approximately every two years. Over the decades, audiences have enjoyed an incredible variety of performances, including Freaky Friday, Me and My Girl, Finding Nemo Jr., Cabaret, Dracula, The Addams Family, The Jungle Book, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz — just to name a few.
This long-standing tradition reflects the creativity, talent and dedication of our students and staff, and highlights the important role the performing arts play in our community. We look forward to another outstanding production this year and continuing this rich legacy for years to come.
