Done and Dusted!

There was a wonderful buzz of activity in the Food Tech rooms yesterday, as an enthusiastic group of parents and students gathered for our final Salvation Army Great Cook Up for 2026.

It was fantastic to see a lots of new faces volunteering their time to prepare meals for those in need. The afternoon was a wonderful demonstration of the St Mark’s community spirit, with students working alongside their mums and dads, all contributing to this very worthwhile cause.

An incredible eleven full bain-maries produced approximately 120 meals, which were provided to the Salvation Army and served to people experiencing homelessness over this coming weekend.

A huge thank you and well done to all the students and parents who participated. Your generosity, enthusiasm and willingness to give your time are truly appreciated. Brett and the team at the Salvation Army have expressed their sincere gratitude for the meals and the ongoing support shown by our school community.

A special thank you also goes to Kate Gillam and the Food Tech Team for their assistance and for generously allowing the Old Scholars to use the Food Tech facilities throughout the year.

This final cook-up brings another successful year of the Salvation Army Great Cook Up program to a close. Thank you to everyone who has contributed throughout 2026 and helped make this initiative such a wonderful success. A fantastic effort by everyone involved, and a wonderful way to finish the year!

See you all again in 2027!
