CAS Sport Report - Term 1, Round 4

This week, our Junior CAS teams faced off against the formidable Mater Dei, known for its robust sporting programs. Given their strength, our teams had to perform at their best to maintain our winning streak. Fortunately, we secured five victories out of nine games.

Indoor Cricket / Indoor Beach Volleyball: Our Beach Volleyballers played in their first game where they were challenged. In a very close encounter, they narrowly lost 2-1. Our Indoor Cricket Team is not stopping its winning ways with another comfortable win.

Boys' Basketball: Our Year 8 and 9 boys faced very strong teams playing a higher level of basketball. To our players' credit, they never gave up, and both coaches were proud of their efforts. For our Year 7s, it was a battle of the two undefeated teams, and our boys came out on top!

Girls Basketball: Going into this round, our three girls' teams were undefeated. Unfortunately for our Year 9s, this run ended with a loss to a well-drilled team. Our Year 7s had a strong win, meaning that basketball at St Mark's is looking good for the future, with both boys and girls on top of the ladder. The game of the round, though, came from our Year 8s, with an overtime thriller ending in an amazing 2-point win!

Girls Touch Rugby: Our girls have been training hard every Friday morning, and this week, they had a challenge with one of the Mater Dei girls putting on an individual show, scoring five tries. Fortunately for us, we have a team of stars, and we scored nine tries.

Year 7-8 Cricket: The boys were back in action this week with another great game. Mr McPherson joined Mr Davies in helping organise and umpire the game; he was impressed with the standard.
