Carnley Brings the Chill for a Cause

To close out Term 2, Carnley hosted a spectacular Big Freeze for MND fundraiser — and what a way to wrap up the term!

In support of Fight MND, our community came together in a big way, raising over $1,200 for this incredibly important cause. The energy, enthusiasm, and generosity shown by students and staff alike were nothing short of inspiring.

A highlight of the day was the Ice Bucket Challenge, where six of our bravest staff members volunteered to be drenched in icy water — all thanks to student votes (and plenty of gold coin donations!). A huge congratulations to the courageous teachers who took the plunge:
Mrs Berghan, Miss Tucker, Miss Cook, Mrs Bamford, Ms Williams and Mr Couper — true champions for a cause that touches many.

Secondary students were invited to come to school in their sports uniforms, with a splash of blue, their Big Freeze beanies, or Sockit2MND socks, all for a gold coin donation. The quadrangle buzzed with excitement as lunchtime arrived and the buckets were tipped, to the cheers (and a few giggles) of the crowd.

It was a wonderful display of community spirit, fun, and compassion — and a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together.

Well done, Carnley House, and thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and cheered from the sidelines.
