Carnley Freezes for a Great Cause!

There were plenty of laughs, lots of cheering and more than a few shocked faces as Carnley House once again took on the FightMND Big Freeze Challenge!

With the sun shining and spirits high, staff and students gathered to support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND), raising awareness and funds for the incredible work of FightMND. While the warmer weather may have made things a little more comfortable for spectators, it certainly didn't help those brave enough to step into the splash zone!

One by one, our courageous volunteers faced buckets overflowing with icy water and ice cubes, much to the delight of the crowd. Each drenching was met with cheers, applause and plenty of laughter as participants embraced the challenge in true Carnley style.

A special shout-out goes to Mr Salinas, Ms Tucker, Mr Limpitlaw, Miss McGrath, Nurse Tracey and our fearless student volunteers, who all took the plunge with enthusiasm, good humour and a willingness to support a worthy cause.

Eagle-eyed students may also have noticed that Ms Tucker somehow escaped an ice-cold bucket this year. After many years leading Carnley House, perhaps she was granted honorary immunity from the Big Freeze? Or maybe there was a little favouritism at play! Either way, we suspect there may already be calls for her name to be added to next year's target list.

The final fundraising tally is still being calculated, but every dollar raised will help support vital research into treatments and, ultimately, a cure for MND. More importantly, the event helped spark conversations about a disease that impacts thousands of Australians and highlighted the power of community action.

Thank you to everyone who got involved by wearing blue, purchasing an MND beanie, making a donation, volunteering, or simply cheering on our frozen fundraisers. Your generosity and House spirit helped make the event a fantastic success.
