A Visit from Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy

St Mark’s recently had the pleasure of welcoming Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy, the Archbishop of Perth, who spent the day connecting with students and staff across the School.

The visit included a conversation with our Year 11 students, where she spoke about “What is a Christian Worldview?” and what that means in everyday life. She also shared part of her own story, including what it has been like to become the first female Archbishop in the Anglican Church of Australia, and spoke about leadership, faith and perseverance. Students enjoyed the chance to hear directly from her.

Later in the day, the Archbishop joined our ELC and Year 4/5 Chapel services, where she happily joined in with the singing and actions. Our younger students gave her a very warm welcome.

One of the highlights of the visit was a Q&A session with the ELC students, who didn’t hold back. As you might expect, the questions were honest, curious and occasionally quite direct!

During her visit, Archbishop Goldsworthy also spent time meeting with the St Mark’s Executive Team and learning more about the life of the School.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our community to spend time with the Archbishop and share a little of what makes St Mark’s special.
