A Day to Celebrate

Our 40th St Mark’s Day Anniversary definitely delivered on the celebrations for our patron saint!

We kicked things off with our St Mark’s Day Eucharist, made even more special with the commissioning of our Senior Chaplain, Mark Davis, led by Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy. We also farewelled our fourth Principal, Steven Davies, following his recent retirement announcement — a meaningful moment for our community.

From there, the day really took off. Secondary students hit the course for cross country, while our ELC students got stuck into activities learning about our motto, values and the story of Saint Mark.

Our Junior School students were busy all day and may have just started a few new traditions of their own! From a Hidden Seek School History Trail to chains of kindness, a pathway of positivity, Courts of Creativity and thankful thoughts books — there was plenty to keep everyone engaged (and smiling).

Then came a crowd favourite — the return of the St Mark’s Day Fun Fair for the first time since COVID! Tug of war, giant games, face painting, a silent disco, lots of good food… and yes, the dunk tank was back. A few brave teachers took their turn in the spotlight, giving students the chance for a bit of friendly payback!

To round it all off, students were encouraged to support Anglicare, with funds raised going towards their Street Connect Program.

Such a fun, full and community-spirited day — one we won’t forget in a hurry!
