A Blooming Transformation: Our New Native Garden

What was once a dry, sandy stretch near the Science block has undergone a stunning transformation into a vibrant native garden—a peaceful and purposeful space made possible by the passion and teamwork of our P&F Busy Bee crew and the ever-enthusiastic Sustainability Club.

Thanks to funding from our wonderful Parents & Friends Association, the area now boasts an inspiring selection of native plants that will grow to provide shade, colour, and a natural habitat for local wildlife. The new garden includes paperbarks (Melaleuca), banksia, grevillea, and kangaroo paws, all chosen for their resilience and beauty—perfect for our West Aussie climate!

A gentle limestone path now winds its way through the garden, inviting students and staff to stroll, pause, and breathe in the fresh air. Nestled beneath the old gum tree, a simple bench seat offers a quiet spot to sit, reflect, or have a friendly chat.

It’s not just humans enjoying the new space—our feathered friends have already taken a liking to the new birdbath, with a cheeky crew of crows being the first to dive in. As the garden grows and matures, we can expect even more birds and pollinators to visit, making this garden a living, breathing part of campus life.

We’re so grateful to everyone who picked up a shovel, planted a seedling, or shared a vision to make this space a reality.

Thank you to our P&F for funding the project and to every helping hand that brought this beautiful garden to life. It's more than just a makeover—it's a long-lasting gift to our school and the environment.
