Dear ELC Parents and Carers

There are currently a lot of children off sick from the ELC. Please ensure that sick children are kept home from school to avoid spreading germs further. Thank you.

If you do consult a health professional regarding your child's health, please always request a 'sick note' and email it to absentee@stmarks.wa.edu.au for our records. Thank you. A sick note if usually requested when students (K-Y12) have been absent for three days or more.

• ELC CHAPEL – Wednesdays 1.15pm to 1.45pm in the Chapel
  K-Y1 students will attend Chapel Services in the Chapel on most Wednesdays
  There is a possibility that ELC Chapel will be at a different time during Term 3 in order to have Chapel start closer to the Class Assembly times.
  
  
• ELC CLASS ASSEMBLIES – Wednesdays in the PAC – most at 2.15pm
  Unfortunately, there has been limited availability of the Performing Arts Complex this term and we apologise for the late confirmation of times and dates for the ELC Assemblies. Teachers will provide more information regarding your child’s class assembly via Seesaw closer to the date. Parents are welcome to attend their child’s Class Assembly.

• EMERGENCY DRILL
  The whole School will participate in an emergency drill on Tuesday 19 August.
  
  
• K-Y5 PRIMARY BOOK WEEK PARADE – Wednesday 20 August
  Primary students are invited to dress up as a character from their favourite book. Kindy Turtles will have their turn on Friday 22 August (DATE CONFIRMED)
  
  
• PRIMARY INTERHOUSE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL PP-Y5 – Wednesday 3 September - DATE CONFIRMED
  Pre-Primary to Year 5 students will participate in track and novelty events on Wednesday 3 September on the Secondary Oval.
  Lunch orders will not be available for PP-Y5 students on this day. PP-Y5 students will need to wear their House shirts on this day. (Selected Y3-5 students will also participate in jump, throw, 200m and 800m events on Tuesday 2 September.)
  
  
• ELC FATHERS' DAY CELEBRATION - Friday 5 September, 8.30-10.30am – DATE CONFIRMED
  Dads or other significant family member of Kindy, Pre-Primary and Year 1 students are invited to attend.
  Kindy Starfish are also invited to attend this event. More details will be provided closer to the event date.
  
  
• R U OK Day - Thursday 11 September
  
  
• KINDY HEALTH CHECKS CONTINUE THIS TERM - 9 to 19 September
  The Community Health Nurse will be visiting the ELC to complete the Kindy health checks.
  
  
• ELC DANCE CELEBRATION – Wednesday 24 September, 4.30-5.30pm.
  All ELC classes will be participating in this event and parents are invited to watch. More details will be provided closer to the event date.
  
  
• ELC HOUSE ACTIVITY DAY - Friday 26 September
  Pre-Primary and Year 1 students will participate in their House Groups. House shirts will need to be worn on this day.
  
  
• LAST DAY OF TERM 3 - Friday 26 September

Week 6: 25 - 29 August is Book Fair

• Once again, we will have Book Fair running in the Primary School Library. We encourage parents to accompany their children before or after school. It is a great time to buy some birthday and Christmas gifts!
• Book Fair opening hours:
  - Monday: after school 3.15pm to 3.45pm
  - Tuesday to Thursday: before school 8.15am - 8.45am, lunch time 12.55pm until 1.15pm, and also after school 3.15pm to 3.45pm
  - Friday: before school 8.15 - 8.45am and lunch time 12.55pm until 1.15pm.

Our Primary Interhouse Athletics Carnival will be held on Tuesday 2 September (jumps, throws, 200m and 800m) and Wednesday 3 September (this will be the main event day - novelty events and 100m).

Further detailed information will be sent to parents via Consent2Go in due course. Students are to wear Sports uniform with House shirt and School hat, and please apply sunscreen before school. Parents are welcome to attend. Wednesday 3 September is an all day event and will be held on the Secondary Oval. Students must bring a packed lunch and water bottle on this day as lunch orders from the Canteen will be unavailable.

Our amazing Arts Show is on again this October, and we need your help to make it a truly unforgettable event!

Notification of the Old Scholars' Association's Annual General Meeting.

Notice is hereby given under the Constitution of the St Mark's Anglican Community School's Old Scholars' Association (Incorporated) of the Annual General Meeting to be held at St Mark's Anglican Community School, on Tuesday 19 August 2025, commencing at 7pm.

All positions will be declared vacant, and nominations are called for a new Committee. All current members of the Association are encouraged to come along to the AGM, and any member may nominate to join the committee. Nominations can be submitted to osa@stmarks.wa.edu.au by Friday 15 August. Nominations can also be taken from the floor at the AGM.

Any members who are not able to attend may select a proxy to vote on their behalf at the AGM. Completed proxy forms should be emailed to osa@stmarks.wa.edu.au by Friday 15 August.

We are delighted to be back in Term 3 and would love to welcome your child to our Friday 7:30-8:30 am soccer program.

Mark and his professional coaching team will engage, inspire, and provide energetic coaching sessions.

Children from Kindy to Year 6 are welcome and are placed in age-appropriate groups.

Please let Mark know if you would like your child to be taken safely to class after the session.
