Message from Head of Primary - 17.6.25
Dear Parents and Carers
The drop off and pick up zones of any school are a very busy location. It is a time and place where drivers are required to be hyper alert to ensure the safety of the young children who are there. The challenge is that these times are often hectic for families.
There can be children in the car wanting to finish a story, some eager to get to class, while others get out of the vehicle and wonder where their instrument is and expecting their all knowing parent to solve this. Combine this with parents who may be late getting to the next appointment or drop off and of course this all happens after following the rubbish truck for a few kilometres, stopping and starting as the clock ticks by. Frustrations are understandable.
Despite these inconveniences and distractions, it is really important that we are patient and follow the road rules correctly. The consequences of not doing this could be disastrous. Normally our parents are very conscious of the road rules around school and student safety is at the forefront of their minds. I have had some feedback of late of parents not following the rules and etiquette, and this is not fair on other parents and, most importantly, our students. Please keep the drop off and pick up circulating properly and be considerate of others behind you in the line. Keep in the correct lanes and only park in designated zones for parking. Adherence to these rules keeps our children safe and frustrations to a minimum. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Kind regards
Mark Douglas
