School Life
Subject Selection and Handbooks
The choice of elective subjects should be given significant consideration, as these subjects provide a great deal of value in areas such as life skills, intellectual development, academic enrichment, practical skill development, creativity, innovation, and leisure-related activities, as well as worthwhile and fulfilling pathways within and beyond secondary education.
When selecting subjects, students are encouraged to show self awareness and to consider the following;
- Personal future goals
- Interests
- Abilities
- Requirements of each pathway (ATAR, UniReady, General or VET): organisation, study and time commitments required
- Parents’ thoughts and advice
- Teachers’ advice and recommendations
