Preparing for the Future

Subject selection can be a challenging time for students, no matter whether they are stepping up to Senior School in Year 9 2021, or whether they are making the final selections for their Year 11 and 12 pathways. We would like to ensure that parents and students have as much information as possible about the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and the subjects offered at St Mark’s Anglican Community School, so that families can make informed choices and each student can achieve their desired goal and pathway.

Year 9 2021

Year 9 is the beginning of a student’s education in the Senior School at St Mark’s. It is a year where students are asked to challenge themselves in their academic studies and the choices they make, to strive to be the best version of themselves. Our motto for Years 9 and 10 is ‘Challenge and Enrich’.  This booklet is designed to help students select their elective programs for 2021.

Year 10 2021

The Year 10 Program at St Mark’s is responsive to the world our students will live, study, and work in beyond graduation. This booklet provides information on electives available to Year 10 in 2021.

Instrumental Music Program (All Year Groups)

The well-established Music program offers individual and group tuition on 27 different instruments during School hours with expert instrumental tutors. Students who learn an instrument at school are required to belong to one of the 20 School ensembles appropriate to their standard. Any student wishing to learn an instrument or voice through St Mark’s may do so by completing the enrolment form at the back of the Instrumental Music Handbook or from the Arts Administrator. New music students are welcomed at any time throughout their time at St Mark’s.
