The word "community" is more than just a part of our School's name - it describes who we are. For parents, there are wide variety of ways in which you can get involved and meet other parents, whether you are new to the School this year, or have been part of our community for a while.
St Mark's Parent Prayer Group
The Primary Parent and the Secondary Parent Group are merging this year! We will be meeting every second Monday from 8.45am near the Coffee Van (Quadrangle). We pray for all aspects of school life including the safety and wellbeing of the staff, students and their families. Come join us to pray or we can pray for you. All are welcome. The first meeting will take place on Monday 10 February - we look forward to welcoming you. If you would like to know more, please email StMarksPPG@gmail.com.
The Sew Sustainable Club will be open to Year 4 & 5 students on Monday and Friday lunch times, commencing Monday 10 February. Projects will include sewing a laptop bag, and projects led by the students. Parents and grandparent helpers are needed, and parent hours are available for those who assist. Sign up online.
Donations of old linen, bed sheets, towels, zips, cords, elastics, buttons and bubble wrap would be welcomed. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com or call Wing Shattock on 0433002151.
Parent Reps in Junior School
If you are interested in filling this vital role in your child’s class please contact your child’s classroom teacher or email Julie Abbott in the Junior School reception at firstname.lastname@example.org. Classroom teachers will also ask for expressions of interest during next week’s Meet the Teacher Night.
Parent Networks in Middle and Senior School
Voluntary Contact Lists for each Year group in the Middle and Senior School are a great way of connecting, and we thank those who have offered their time to become the Parent Representative for their Year group.
If you would like to be included on the Voluntary Contact List for your child’s Year Group, please email the volunteers listed below, and let them know whether you are interested in being included on the general Year Group parent email list and also whether you would like to have your details included on a circulated voluntary contact list.
Year 6: Volunteer/s needed.
Year 7: Deb Tasker
Year 8: Jo-Dee Mansell
Year 10: Corinne Taylor
Year 11: Tania Wood-Gush
Year 12: Jill Johnston
The role of a Middle/Senior School Parent Rep is slightly different to that of Parent Reps in Early Learning or Junior School. It is more about building connections between parents, and does not involve managing volunteer rosters or classroom help. If you would like to express an interest in becoming the Year 6 representative, please email email@example.com for more information. The role can be shared by two people.
