St Mark’s had 11 students competing in the State Robocup Competition last weekend, with three of our four teams progressing through to the Finals.
While none of the teams placed in the Grand Final, the Year 11 Team, lead by Alex Dalton, ranked 2nd on Friday in the Open Line Rescue, and ranked 4th during the Preliminary Finals on Saturday. The Team missed out on the Grand Final by one place. They had many comment on the high level of engineering involved in the design of their robot.
All students were excellent ambassadors of St Mark’s and displayed impressive problem solving and coding skills, while also showing the resilience needed to learn and improve. They have been working on these robots all year and have all put in a huge amount of time and energy towards this success.
We'd like to thank Dr Ray Williams, Mrs Michelle Chomiak and Mr Rob Blair for their support of the students as they have built and re-built their robots this year.
Well done to all the St Mark's participants: Memphis Marshall, Aiden Kirby-Smith, Connor Walton, Archie Butterworth, Nik Wurster, Cameron Paton, Francois Fouche, Matthew Ciccullo, Luke Ellis,Toby Lorkin and Alex Dalton.
